The Library Media Center is a vital and integral part of Wylandville Elementary School. It provides teachers and students with a variety of resources and opportunities to meet their educational, recreational, and personal needs. The library functions as the informational center of the school. The library curriculum combines technology with printed resources to teach research skills and literature appreciation.
The library houses nearly 4,600 items including books and magazines. DVDs and videos are available for teachers to checkout for the class to view. It is a participant of Access PA, which gives us the ability to borrow from and lend to other libraries in the state. It also participates in the Accelerated Reader Program.
All students visit the library each week. Materials are checked out, stories are read, research skills are taught, and a love of reading and learning is instilled in all students. It is the goal of the library program to inspire all students to become lifelong learners, thinkers, readers and dreamers.
