The purpose of this portal is to give you access to your child's team/teacher blog page. Teachers at NSIS are using blogs as a communicatin tool for their students. Blogs are a form of journaling for teachers to keep parents and students up to date on class information.

NSIS teachers are also using their blogs in a variety of ways to enhance the learning process for their students. For example, Team USS Enterprise uploads videos from class activities to showcase their students' acting talents. Visit their blog to watch the video titled, "Who's on First." The teachers are using Teacher Tube to upload the videos to their blog.

Team Lifesavers uses their blog to provide parents and students with upcoming curricular events. This team also posts links for students to visit for extra practice in the area of spelling and mathematics. They also use the survey feature to get feedback from their students.

Visit Team USS Midway's blog to see how "Voki's" are being used to provide information about homework assignments to students. Students use the Voki application to record their voice to provide messages for the class.

Visit Mrs. Ellis's blog to see the video she made in Animoto about the Wizard of Oz. Animoto is a popular Web 2.0 tool that allows teachers to create short videos using student photos!

Blogs are a great vehicle to provide educational resources to our students. Take a few minutes and explore the variety of ways on how the faculty at NSIS is incorporating blogs into their classroom!
